From time to time, in order for you to continue to maximize your association involvement, I will post to this blog "The NAHB Spotlight"directing your attention to events and programs that can add to your professional career. I can't think of a better spotlighted event to start off and to utilize as we begin next week's start of associate leadership posts.
This spotlight is on The NAHB's "Summit on Association Excellence."
Please click on the website link www.nahb.org/summit and see for yourself what you could, and should, attend. After viewing come on back to the blog.
For those of you who attended The Summit two years ago in New Orleans you know how exceptional that event was and this year's will be better. For those of you who did not attend New Orleans well, you missed out on a great experience. I attended, as well as presented, and was very impressed with the quality of programs and the excitement of the attendees.
The Summit delivers practical, focused curriculum and events to HBA staff and volunteer leaders and takes place in Dallas, Texas November 9 through 11.
The intensive three-day Summit will emphasize:
- Recruiting and retaining HBA membership and providing superior member services
- Leading an organization in difficult times
- Perfecting government affairs messaging and programming
Who should attend
- Volunteer leaders at local associations
- Current and emerging national leaders
- Local association staff
I deeply encourage you to attend; I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Lancaster County BIA has been involved in either the Leadership training or the new eveloution, The summitt for many years...for one reason...it works! This year we have two staff and two volunteers (incoming President and incoming Membership Chair) attending and I know we won't be disapointed...think about it, but do it and you will not regret it!
